Day 4: Take Action With a More Intuitive Project Dropdown Menu

Posted

During Teamwork Projects’ 12 Days of Features, we’re delivering a brand new feature every day to help you improve your productivity into the new year and beyond.

On the fourth day of Christmas, Teamwork gave to me… a redesigned project dropdown menu!

We’re all about helping you to become more efficient each and every time you interact with Teamwork Projects. That’s why we’ve redesigned the project dropdown menu to be more visible making it easier for you to access project options in an instant.

You can find these new menus anywhere you find a list of projects. Look for the three dots next to the project name, and select them to open the project’s options menu.

New and Improved Project Dropdown Menu

Instead of seeing another list of text, these menus now display easy-to-recognize icons to help you take the action you need.

  • The Quick Add menu lets you create new tasks, milestones, and messages in one place.
  • Choose the Jump To section for the shortest path to the project area you need, like tasks, time, or notebooks.
  • Under Manage Project, you can delete, archive, move, or copy the project, plus take other actions like mark it as complete or set a new project owner.

Project Dropdown MenuThis feature makes it really easy to interact with a group of projects without having to click away from the screen you’re in, so you can get more done from one place. For example, if you were looking at a list of projects filtered by a particular client, the project dropdown menu lets you quickly interact with any of them without having to click through to each individual project.

If you want to learn more about this feature check out this help doc. How have you been using your shiny new features so far? What are you still hoping to find under the Teamwork tree? Let us know in the comments below.

Kevin,

Thanks a million for taking the time to share the positive feedback. There are plenty more great features lined up for release, so make sure to check back here next week.

The 12 days of features is a great idea. The features so far look good and I have checked them out although I have not actually used any. What I’d like to find under the tree, with the best last, would be:

(1) The ability to select multiple projects to archive at the same time.
(2) Separate scroll controls for the left and right (if any) columns.
(3) A setting to have headings stay locked in place so that they don’t scroll with the contents, particularly when displaying tasks.
(4) User groups, within the same company, for setting access to projects and files.
(5) A way to drag completed tasks or subtasks to different task lists or tasks without changing their completed status.
(6) A mode in which all completed task lists, tasks and subtasks would be displayed as they appeared before being hidden so that someone joining a project midstream or looking back could get up to speed on what had gone on before.

Nothing flashy, but that’s my wish list and there are still 8 days left.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for sending on your wishlist! If Santa doesn’t deliver everything you ask for this year we’ll add them as +1s on our feature requests list.

Well this is fun!
I now have to check “What’s New?” before looking at any email in the morning..
Of course you’ll have to do the 12 days every year.
AND keep up with normal new feature releases.
