Teamwork Chat Updates: Social Links, Message Menu, Deep Linking & More

Posted

Over the last few weeks, the Teamwork Chat team has been working hard making new and exciting improvements to your favorite collaborative chat app.

This month we’re happy to announce updates to the message menu, social links for user profiles, deep linking and more!

Social Links to User Profiles

We’ve added social media links to user profiles. Get to know your colleagues even better by connecting with them on their favorite social media platforms.

If they’ve updated their social media profile in Teamwork Projects (edit my profile> social tab), users will now be able to go straight to a person’s social profile from within a direct message in Teamwork Chat—all with just one click.

Updates to the Message Menu

Based on customer usage reports, we’ve made some tweaks to the message menu that we think you’ll really like. Instead of having to click on a message, all you have to do is hover over it and you’ll be able to action directly from there. Quickly quote, copy a link and create a task right from within your message.

Deep Linking

Before this update, linking to messages within the desktop app required clicking on a message link that would take you to the web version of the app. We’ve introduced deep linking, so now clicking on links on your desktop will bring you straight to messages within the desktop app. No more jumping in and out of windows and everything will be in one place.

We’ve also made a couple of more improvements like:

  • Fixed top bar icons when using Dark theme on macOS
  • Fixed file drop crashes
  • Increased window size

That’s it for this month. Please let us know what you think of these improvements in the comments below. And as always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
