Day 8: Increase Accountability with Change History for Milestones

On the eighth day of Christmas, Teamwork gave to me… change history for milestones!

Projects grow, ideas develop, and details change. As your team adapts to new tasks and deadlines, it’s helpful to have a record of who made those changes and when decisions happened.

That’s why we recently introduced Change History for tasks. Change History lets you see every single detail of a task in one convenient place, so you can focus on the big picture progress of your project without losing sight of the specifics.

And now you can apply that kind of big picture thinking to your big picture goals. With today’s feature, you can see the entire history of your milestones at a glance. 

Wondering who to consult if you have a concern about deadlines? Or need to double-check when a particular decision was made? Change History for milestones has the answers.

The trail of past decisions is no longer a mystery. You can get a full accounting of changes to any aspect of the milestone’s details, such as due date, comments, tags, task lists, and more.

Trace your steps

Nothing is left to chance. Every change is recorded, so even if your memory isn’t perfect, the milestone change history can help you fill in the gaps.

Keep everyone on the same page

The data is available to all users, so everyone is clear on what happened, when it happened, and who made it happen. There’s no confusion about timelines or accountability.

Greater flexibility for your team

Your team can be responsive to schedule adjustments without losing key information along the way. Make the changes, and if you need to revert to a previous timeline, all of the details can be retrieved instantly.

Here’s how it works

To access the milestone change history, go to an individual milestone, click the options menu, and choose View History.

View history

The full history of all changes to the milestone will appear, starting with the most recent and going back to the project launch. For each action in the history, you can copy a link directly to that action. This link will open the milestone details screen, show the history panel, scroll to and momentarily highlight the action you linked to.

Note: Milestone change history is available on Teamwork Projects’ Premium plan and upwards.

Bit disappointed with this and the change history for tasks not being available on all subscription plans.

Understanding historical changes to is key to any PM.

I’d also include portfolio manager in this category, being able to have up to 50 projects and not having a one view of the bigger picture is difficult at best.

Joe,

Agree with you on the challenge for the portfolio manager. I am struggling with this at the moment and trying to sort how to a) keep folks accountable and b) make reporting easier. Challenging for sure.

When I need to remove a tag from a project, I have a hard time hitting the tiny little X. Would love a slightly larger target OR an option in the color-selection window that opens to remove the tag from the task.

When I look at the subscription options, the choices are
– Small Office (which I have)
– Professional
– Business
– Enterprise
Which one of those choices is “Premium”?

I do not see a subscription plan called “Premium”. Do you “Professional” or higher?

It’s possible you’re still on a legacy plan, but you should be able to access this feature if you’re on the old professional plan – if you can send us an email to support@teamwork.com we’ll look into it for you.
