Fresh update for the Teamwork Desk and Teamwork Projects integration

Access more information and decrease time spent on repetitive tasks with our freshly updated integration between Teamwork Desk and Teamwork Projects. The new features will significantly streamline your workflow!

The Teamwork Desk and Teamwork Projects integration has undergone a significant revamp over the last couple of months, and today we are proud to share the final product with you!  We’ve added some time-saving enhancements that add efficiency to your workday. We’ve also given it a fresh new look and feel for an overall better experience when creating a task in Teamwork Projects from a ticket in Teamwork Desk.

For many of our customers, the integration between Teamwork Desk and Teamwork Projects sealed the deal, so we understand how important these improvements are to your business.

What’s been updated?

After taking our customer feedback into account, we’ve added two highly anticipated, time-saving features which will streamline your workflow and keep your team more organized.

Add a ticket as a sub task

When creating a task from a ticket, you can now select a parent task and add the ticket as a subtask. Previously, you only had the option to add the task to a task list. This powerful feature allows you to drill down further, adding subtasks as needed. The task overview tab is also better organized to highlight the different levels of tasks which have been created. Having a more organized structure in place helps teams to collaborate efficiently, improving productivity across the board.

Attach files to tasks straight from the ticket

Add attachments to tasks directly from tickets. This small but mighty feature saves an enormous amount of time and space for agents. No more downloading and manually re-uploading files in order to attach them to a task!

Add customer information to a ticket

Include customer details and a customer message to tasks created from tickets. Simply check the two boxes in the description section, and all your customer information, along with the last message received on the ticket, will be included in the newly created task. This additional information gives agents more insights into the customer request, helping them find a resolution even faster! Less copying and pasting of customer details to provide complete information means your team members will be more focused on the job at hand.

Hi Magne,

Great to hear you like the updated integration! At the moment it is not possible to add a new project from Teamwork Desk. It would be great if you could give some more information on how this feature would help you day-to-day as well as a use case! I can pass the information to our product team for review then 🙂

Thanks,
Emma

Hi Magne,

Thanks for reaching out! Could you at some context to where you would need to add a project from a ticket, please? It helps us to process requests when we have the full scenario 🙂

Thanks,
Emma

Hi Emma, we have the same request. For example, a customer wants to termite his services with us, it would help us if we could start a new project from Teamwork Desk “Termination Services Customer X” and and task list “Terminate Service A”, “Terminate Service C” etc.

Emma Ross

Hi Jan,

Thanks for getting in touch, I’ll pass your request to the product team 🙂

This is a great improvement. Great job guys.

It would be great if there was an option box to check, for the task with a ticket attached, to Auto Complete once the ticket is completed. Similar to Auto Complete trigger in Columns

I second this, but would love for it to go both ways. Have the capability to complete related ticket when you complete the task or to complete the task when you close / solve a ticket. We do find ourselves at time having to go back and clean up orphaned tasks or tickets without this feature.

Great job! I only wish the Task Name could be filled in automatically based on the ticket name.

Of course a nice step forward. Keep up the good work. Perhaps now is a good time to start thinking even bigger and allow out of Teamwork Desk the creation of a task list or even a project in Teamwork Projects.

These are great features! We’ve long wanted an easy way to add the client’s message to the task. No more copy-pasting the requirements and getting the link to the ticket and putting it in the task. Looking forward to using these enhancements.

Nice improvement! Thanks! When the task is finished from within Teamwork Project, does it also need to be marked complete in Teamwork Desk?

Reply
Emma Ross

Hi Leslie,

Really happy to hear you like the enhancements! To answer your question, no you don’t need to mark the task as complete in Teamwork Desk when it’s been marked complete in Teamwork Projects. This will happen automatically!

Thanks,
Emma

Is there the reverse functionality, where I can create a new ticket from within the a task (or subtask), with the same closing functionality (closing the ticket marks the parent subtask as complete).

Use case is that I manage outside consultants through teamwork desk, and would like to add more strategic project work to their workload, without forcing them to look at both places. They execute on the tickets, and any ticket associated with a task updates accordingly.

Hi Dan,

This functionality is not currently possible. I’ll pass this on as a request to the product team to review. Thanks for the use case, it makes it much easier for us to understand the need for this type of function!

Cheers,
Emma
